CUSTOMER VERIFICATION GUIDANCE

A clear path to verification.

Your financial services provider will send a secure, short-lived verification request. Never send passwords, one-time bank codes or unrestricted remote access to a person claiming to verify your identity.

Know who is asking

Check the organisation and purpose. Use its known contact details if uncertain.

Prepare evidence

Have the requested identity or business documents available. Businesses may need ownership and control evidence.

Additional security

Where lawful and appropriate, a connected provider can request a live facial check. Ask for an accessible manual alternative if needed.

Customer capture is not connected yet. This page does not request camera access or collect identity documents. Do not upload personal or biometric data here. Your provider must configure the verification service and privacy notice first.

Privacy and support

Your provider should explain the controller, purpose, lawful basis, retention, recipients and how to challenge a result. Screening concerns are reviewed by authorised staff; sensitive investigations are never exposed in customer status messages.
